Go around in Kofu – various taste of original local food.
It has been 2 weeks since I have started to do an internship in Kagetsu Ryokan, Today was my day off so I decided to go around in Kofu city.
The beginning of this day I started a breakfast with Tsukemen (my favourite Japanese food of all time).
This Tsukemen shop name is 'Tsukemen Nariya' and it takes only 5 minutes walking from Kofu station.
For me, this meal was very impressive and delicious in original Japanese homemade style as it looks.
After that, I went to Kofu castle which located a short walk from the station. This castle was built by Hideyoshi Toyotomi, one of the most influential warlord in Japanese history. I have known this information from one of the local voluntary guide at Kofu castle. The guide told me that Kofu castle was the strongest castle in the Kanto Area after Edo castle (which now in Tokyo) and unfortunately this castle was destroyed by fire in 1727.
I have noticed that from the castle’s position you could see the Fuji mountain so clearly, it’s definitely good spot for beautiful scenery.
Soon after that, I went back to Kofu station and I found the souvenir corner that attract my attention. That was Shingen Mochi Ice cream which made my heart melt.
Shingen Mochi is the most famous sweet and also the number one best seller in Yamanashi prefecture. I love the taste of Shingen Mochi so much, I love the way they arrange the taste which made it was lightly sweetened and so smooth that it melts in your mouth.
Luckily that this ice cream also had the same taste with Shingen mochi and it’s exciting for me to try this!
